Nonprofit Center of Excellence
Aspen Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Center of Excellence (NCE) is a regional resource to support nonprofit organizations throughout the Aspen to Parachute region, enabling them to recognize and actualize their full potential in delivering positive and sustainable community impacts. Through the NCE, local nonprofits will have access to a series of professional learning and development opportunities that will strengthen their organization’s competency and capacity.
| NCE Academy
The NCE Academy (NCEA) serves to strengthen operational and governance leadership through a week-long series of professional workshops. As a result of this program, participants will be able to demonstrate how they have built the requisite skills and competencies to sustainably strengthen their community impact.
This one week intensive academy will take place June 2-6, 2025, at the Hoffman Hotel, Basalt, Colorado. Participants will include up to fifteen (15) nonprofit organizations. Ideal participants are leaders of organizations who are open to learning and growing collaboratively to support the sustainable impact of their mission.
FEES: ACF is offering this inaugural year at no cost to participants.

Curriculum
The curriculum for the NCEA has been informed by local funder feedback and will focus around the following content areas:
- Values-Based Leadership & Culture Building
- Executive and Governance Leadership
- Assessing and Strengthening Organizational Pillars (People, Process, Infrastructure, Finance)
- Program Design and Evaluation
- Resource Development
- Collaboration & Coalition Building
- Mission-based Communication
Eligibility
The NCEA is open to applicants that meet all the following criteria:
- A Colorado registered nonprofit organization located in and/or serving the Aspen to Parachute region.
- The willingness of the Executive leader and up to one additional staff leader to participate throughout the duration of the Academy.
- The willingness and ability of the Board leader to participate in day one of the Academy.
