Supporting Nonprofit Organizations

For over 40 years, Aspen Community Foundation has been providing discretionary grants to nonprofit organizations addressing a variety of needs in the community.  Each year, Aspen Community Foundation awards grants to local nonprofit organizations providing essential services and programs from Aspen to Parachute.  We value them as partners and appreciate the vital work they do for youth and families.
Aspen Community Foundation recognizes the importance of maintaining and elevating the capacity of high performing nonprofits in order to substantially improve outcomes for youth and families, which, in turn, benefits our region's quality of life and economy. Our nonprofit support is made possible through annual contributions from donors wishing to support a pooled grantmaking fund. While the needs have changed over the years as the Aspen to Parachute region has grown, supporting opportunities for all individuals and families to thrive has been a consistent priority for Aspen Community Foundation.

The Community Grantmaking program prioritizes general operating and programmatic grants to nonprofits working in early childhood education, family supports, and youth development. In addition, because the availability of basic human needs such as food, shelter, safety, and healthcare is critically linked to youth success, “safety net” nonprofits will remain a secondary grantmaking priority.

The 2022 Community Grantmaking program will disburse approximately $500,000 for general operating and program support. In general, grants will range from $10,000 to $25,000.

Qualifying Applications are now open and must be submitted by Friday, May 20, 2022.
Please review the Grantmaking Guidelines before applying.
Potential applicants may contact Scott Kenner, grants manager, with questions.
