Youth in Nature

Discover volunteer, internship, and job opportunities in the outdoors.

Youth in Nature is a 12-month program where you will meet new people, learn about land stewardship, and recreate outdoors. Learn from experienced outdoor leaders during a backcountry hut trip, stewardship projects, skiing, climbing, wilderness first aid training, farming and more. 

Youth in Nature is made possible by the Jonathan D. + Mark C. Lewis Foundation.

Criteria: Free program. Prior outdoor experience is not needed. All gear and supplies can be provided. Receive a $1,500 educational award over the course of this year-long program that meets once a month.

Schools: Open to all 10th, 11th and 12th grade students attending Aspen to Parachute schools.

Applications open: January 15, 2024. 

Application deadline: April 12, 2024.
