On Friday, December 1, ACF hosted its first grantee luncheon, honoring 35 regional nonprofits who received grants in 2017. Represented by their directors and one board member, each organization exemplified the power of Collective Impact and the spirit of collaboration across sectors to build youth success. These community partners comprise a network of partners working together successfully in ACF’s Cradle to Career Initiative, strengthening the ecosystem for youth and families.
At a luncheon at the Hotel Jerome, ACF board and staff greeted guests and presented them with their grant checks. Executive Director Tamara Tormohlen addressed the attendees, explaining “For the past few years, ACF’s grantmaking program has been influenced by the knowledge and partnerships fostered through our Cradle to Career Initiative. Each year, we strive to award funding to organizations that support the vision of Cradle to Career – that all of our children are ready for kindergarten, and all of our students are prepared for college and career.”
Tamara stated, “As a community foundation, supporting nonprofit organizations is at the core of our work. We do this by connecting donors to issues they’d like to support, and through our discretionary grants.”
