Aspen Community Foundation selects Colorado Health Foundation Director as next Executive Director
After national search for new leader, Foundation hires Colorado philanthropy veteran Erica Snow
Aspen Community Foundation (ACF) Board of Trustees announces it has hired Erica Snow to serve as the organization’s next Executive Director. She most recently served as Portfolio Director for the Denver-based Colorado Health Foundation, where she worked since 2008 to ensure that communities, systems, and policies support Coloradans in their pursuit of good health.
“Erica Snow is an experienced leader with a long history of philanthropic leadership,” said Marcie Musser, chair of Aspen Community Foundation Board’s search committee. “Her track record of maximizing community impact through strategic philanthropy, strong partnerships, and authentic collaboration will serve ACF and the region well. Erica’s success is grounded in building trust and authentic relationships with diverse stakeholders, and we look forward to expanding our impact and legacy under her direction.”
Erica loves to be out in the community, connecting and listening. She’s always looking for what is working and then finding opportunities to expand those positive efforts. Her commitment to communities shows up outside of her work as well — from serving as a founding Board member for a new charter school in Montebello to joining the Peace Corps in Madagascar, Erica seeks opportunities to make a difference, both locally and globally.
“It’s an honor to be selected as the leader of Aspen Community Foundation, which has a strong history of bringing people together to solve problems,” Erica said. “ACF plays a significant role in the region, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the community to expand ACF’s influence and impact in ensuring all community members can thrive.”
Erica graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder and she earned her master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in health policy from the University of Colorado, Denver.
During her tenure at the Colorado Health Foundation, Erica spent time working alongside many of the nonprofits in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys, focusing on the expansion of school-based health centers, increased access to health services, and quality support for social-emotional development for early childhood.
Erica, her husband, and daughter will be moving to the region this summer. The family is excited to make the Roaring Fork Valley their home and become a part of its diverse and vibrant community.
Aspen Community Foundation engaged Denver-based White River Strategy to conduct a national search to succeed Tamara Tormohlen, who has been with the organization for 20 years, 16 as Executive Director. Erica will officially begin her duties as Executive Director on June 13, 2022.
