Denver Preschool Program Executive Summary

This 2013 executive summary of the Denver Preschool Program report summarizes the first longitudinal study to compare the third grade reading proficiency of students that participated in the Colorado Preschool Program at Denver public schools.  The results show that overall, students that participated in the preschool program performed better than their peers that did not participate.  This study was also featured in the 2013 Colorado Preschool Program report to the legislature.

Ready: Prenatal Health and Care

Released in 2013, “Prenatal Health and Care” is the first brief in the three-part series, Ready, Set, Go: Investing in Infants and Toddlers, the Colorado Children’s Campaign. The foundations for lifelong success start in the earliest stages of life, beginning with a healthy mother and continuing through early childhood. These briefs are intended to help frame discussion around children from the prenatal stage to age 3 and the importance of health, education and family and community supports in helping them grow into healthy and strong individuals. Each brief includes recommendations for policy makers and leaders to help ensure Colorado kids get the best start in life.
