Aspen Community Foundation celebrates regional philanthropy at its annual Connected event

Aspen, Colo. — September 16, 2024 — Aspen Community Foundation (ACF) held its annual fundraising event, Connected, with donors, board members and community supporters at the St. Regis Aspen on July 24.  As part of its mission to inspire philanthropy, ACF honored Allen Grossman, Soledad Hurst and Bob Hurst, who have had a tremendous impact in the region from Aspen to Parachute through their philanthropy and leadership.

The event successfully raised funds totaling $648,500 for ACF’s community leadership efforts, which include facilitating community listening and learning, providing technical assistance for nonprofits, educating donors around key issues, collecting and analyzing data, convening partners and engaging in community dialogue. These leaders support community-led conversations around pressing needs and promising solutions to issues impacting the Aspen to Parachute region.

“We’re grateful for our donors and supporters who made this a successful event,” said Erica Snow, ACF Chief Executive Officer. “Together, we can achieve even greater impact and build a stronger, more vibrant community. We hope attendees stay connected with us and continue to engage in our work.”

Attendees also heard from Kyle Peterson with Boldly Go Philanthropy, who shared insights on the convening power of community foundations and bringing donors with community needs. The event offered different ticketing levels including Co-Connectors, Lauren and David Chazen, Tony Dilucia, Sarah Broughton and John Rowland, Hosts and Event Committee members.

“Our region has incredible resources, natural and otherwise, at the same time not every member of our community has equitable access and opportunity to thrive,” said Allen Grossman, Aspen Community Foundation Board Member. “ACF proactively explores opportunities to support community led projects to better the lives of all who call this place home.”

Connected wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the following sponsors: Alpine Bank Aspen; Hansen Construction; Nuages; J.P. Morgan Private Bank; Rowland + Broughton Architecture; Lugano Diamonds; Christie’s International Real Estate Aspen I Snowmass
